Söndagen den 4 november samlades ett gäng SWEOR hos Susanne Rehnmark-Westling i Everett, för att börja göra tomtarna som vi ska sälja på Nordic Heritage Museums Yulefest den 17-18 november. Susanne hade redan börjat gjuta cementtomtarna (tack och lov!) de måste nämligen stelna i 24h innan man kan lossa dem från formen.
Under tillverkningen tillämpade vi löpandeband tekniken; några klippte mönstret till tomteluvorna, några sydde, några gjöt cement. Med andra ord, en riktigt tomteverkstad!
Vi gjorde även garntomtar, det var kul att få en liten uppfräschningskurs i hur man gör dem, det var 20 år sedan senast... Avslutningsvis tillverkade vi cementblommor som man kan dekorera sina blomkrukor med.
Vi hann även med en liten fikarast bestående av kaffe/te, smörgåsar med ost och prickigkorv!
